    As to Marvel, Iron Man was pre-Disney and imo the best of all of the
    Marvel Movies, Guardians of The Galaxy being a close second. And Disney wasn't nearly as heavily involved in Guardians... but if you look at
    what they were definitely more influential over (Capt. Marvel, Thor 2,
    etc) much worse.

    in the grand scheme of things, marvel has been a poorly ran company that
    was passed around for decades.

    ironman was a fluke. before then nobody could make a good superhero movie.
    they needed to get the right formula.

    I'm pretty sure the widespread ability/availability of special effects
    were a huge factor on that... regarding superhero movies. The Tobey
    Maguire Spider-Man was really the first superhero movie that wasn't
    overall garbage.

    Of course, the licensing models etc were mostly outside Marvel's
    creative control for those earlier movies.
