So still looking for a glock; they appear sold out. Any other brands recommended to try that may be similar?

I haven't been able to find much around here but there's plenty of
Glocks in my area. I'm not a fan of Glocks but I do have a S&W SD9VE
that looks and works so much like a Glock that Glock sued S&W over the
SD9's design and S&W has to pay Glock $9 for every SD9 sold. :D

The SD9VE (Value Edition) even will take some Glock parts. That's how identical they are.

I picked up mine for under $300 new but that was a few years ago.

I carry a Bersa Thunder .380 now but have my eyes on a Mossberg MC2c
once I start working and assuming I can find one. I can't find one
    around here in -any- store.

    Later,
    Sean

Thats a killer deal! My father-in-law gave me a brand new shot gun he purchased for $99 on DATG that was a china knock off (almost identical) to
the Remington 870. While I haven't shot it yet, I did watch youtube videos
on it, and the related expert reviews .. they liked the knock off better!!

Just looked both up, both look like nice pistols, I'll ready the reviews on them and watch a few youtube videos. It seems, lately, the only handguns in stock are those that are the ones that nobody seems to want: heavy, too
large, kick, etc.... I want a conceal and carry, but like the magazine capacity of the full size glocks (and alternate equivalents ...) I wish the supply chain would open up a bit more so I could finally compare.

I appreciate the reply Sean, I'll be adding to my list of guns to shoot when inventory improves.

    Sure thing.

The Bersa Thunder .380 is my EDC for several reasons the first one is that it fits my hand perfectly. My index finger rests on the slide release lever and that is comfortable for me since I have arthritis (I took my right hand almost completely off of my arm in a car accident in March 2008; it was reattached using a plate with four pins and a pin on the other side. My hand sits about -30 degrees to the left of my arm due to the surgery.) and the nice rubber
grip is comfortable. Plus it doesn't have quite the kick a 9mm does but the drawback is ammo sometimes.

The new Thunder .380s are all Cerakoted from the factory and come with a threaded barrel. Yay! Once I start working, I'm going to try to buy another one.

I just sat down and cleaned my Bersa for the first time in months. There was some surface rust around the hammer and the back part of the slide but it all came off. I made sure to oil everything properly. When I can afford it, I will be dropping this gun off to get Cerakoted at a local gun shop.

It's a small gun but much larger than a LCP or LCP II which I couldn't shoot
    at all.
