The local conferences @winserver.com are less frequently read than the SSI Support List. I suggest you join the general winserver support list for future questions:

If you are attempting to start wcSMTP.EXE on Windows 7/8/10 then you should navigate to the Wildat! root directory. Right Click on the wcSMTP.EXE and
Set it to RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.
See how you then go starting it at the CLI
wcsmtp /router
wcsmtp /receiver
wcsmtp /sender
or
wcsmtp
if you do not wish to use load balancing roles.
If it still fails to start make sure you do NOT have any other SMTP Server service already running on port 25. At the CLI type:
telnet localhost 25
And see if you get a connect and welcome banner.
The wcSTART event signals are:
Wildcat.SmtpUpEvent.Router
Wildcat.SmtpUpEvent.Receiver
Wildcat.SmtpUpEvent.Sender
In summary the most common problems are UAC permissions and/or other SMTP software installed by default already running.

Hello Hector,
Just did a AUP to get my BBS back up after a few years, all is running ok except I cannot get wcSMTP to start, I have attached wcstart.log for reference.
Any ideas or help appreciated.
