Sounds like you've got things well organized. I also use uSD cards but don't bother with Write Protect. Never had a problem (not)writing to cards. :)

Let's not forget flippy disks -- when you'd cut a write-enable tab
on the left hand side and use the other side of the disk!

5.25" floppies were the same way. I can remember using masking tape
on some. I can also remember using siccors to unprotect some
diskettes that did not have notches. :)
