• Moderator Needed

From Dale Barnes@1:106/201 to ALL on Sat Dec 4 10:42:50 2021
    Good Day,

With Tim active on betas etc, I see no further need for me here. Does someone want to take the moderator role for this echo so that I can resume my other projects?

    Thank you again,

    Dale

Am I to assume that if nobody steps forward, the echo will eventually be dropped from the ELIST ?

    Regards,
    Martin

It's really too bad there isn't a consensus of the practicality
of the ELIST system (like there is a concensus on the the FTSC
system) The end result is a nice "list" of available echos in
one place that anyone can find easily. Emphasis on "easily" and
"in one place". Why some sysops don't understand that simple
    concept is a mystery.

Can Winpoint generate scheduled auto-posts? All it takes is
one person to agree to do it.

Not sure how much that is inforced but it could so that is why I am asking if someone wants to take it. If no one steps forward, I will leave it in place. Do not want it to get dropped but figured someone more active in the echo may be interested.

    Thanks

I have the auto post in place but there is another part where you have to submit to ELIST just update there.

Perhaps that. But primarily meant the post that is required to
be sent to the ELIST bot every few months.

WP can use batch-file and external auto-post utility

    for WP, Martin.

Back when I was the often maligned Echolist Keeper I used a program written by the fellow who created the echolist software to do auto updates. I may have a copy of it, and if I can get it to pplay I'll raise my hand go take on the job.

If you have access to the sources please let me know as it might prove useful to improve functionality to the currently used version of elist.
