    Unlike in beta 5, Ctrl+Y now works as expected, but... the last line cannot be deleted (unless you append a blank line in the end).

    Related feature request:

    It would be nice to be able to undo this, like with Ctrl+U in GoldEd.

    I know you can select and cut with the usual Windows keystrokes, but for some of us Ctrl+Y and Ctrl+U are so convenient for removing quotes, etc...

    When you forward a message from e.g. ECHO1, if you change the destination Area from the default (Netmail) to another in the dropdown list (e.g. ECHO2), it is changed to the ECHO1. You have to select ECHO2 again - and then it works ok.

    Funy enough, redo was in but hidden from the menu because in earlier versions the menu was customizable but that went ayway when switching to another control so essentially redo disappeared, also because no shortcur was assigned.

    This exists. When forwarding a message, the header/footer from the source (!) area textgroup is inserted. However, many people seem to miss this as the textgroup has to be created upfront and assigned to the area.

    Actually, the default area's textgroup will be assigned to any newly created area, BUT after installtion it does not exist and most people seem not to assign one and thus end up with a lot of areas without text group assigned. I have on my list to make WP create the default text group and assign it to the prototype area during setup.

    While thinking about this, I realize that not the source area text group is applied, but the destination area text group. Since the default destination area for forwarding in WP is Netmail, the corresponding text group is applied to all forwarded messages regardless of the message language or actual destination area.

    However, I think using the source area text group (as I claimed) makes indeed much more sense, since
    - it probably matches the language of the conference (and thus the forwarded message)
    - the user will determine the actual destination area in the editor. Will change it to that for the next release.

    Sorry, I should have explored Winpoint's settings before requesting anything... O:-)

    I installed it some months ago (I hadn't used it before), I was testing easy-to-use point solutions.
    I found some issues, I intended to revisit it later when a new release was available (by Dale, or now you). So I didn't realize it has so many options.

    When replying to a message, I press Ctrl-Y and current line is deleted. Immediately after, I press Ctrl-U. No change.

    I expected it to work like in GoldEd (delete line, undelete line), but I now see that I hadn't realized that Ctrl-Y is the usual keystroke for redoing in Windows... I don't use that when I'm in Fido-mode O:-)

    Thinking about it, maybe Ctrl-Y should work the standard way (redo) in WinPoint, as that could be what most potential Windows users would expect, and use a different keystroke like Alt-D (the alternative one in GoldEd) or Ctrl-L (like in Notepad++) for deleting the current line. What do you think?

    Indeed. The delete line functionality (basically one line of code) was implemented outside the actual editor control and thus accidentally bypassed the control's undo/redo functionality.

    However, making that work gave me the creeps. I ended up with this (no kidding):

    procedure TMessageEditor.MnDeleteLineClick(Sender: TObject);
    var
    LineStart:TBufferCoord;
    begin
    if Line<=Editor.Lines.Count then
    begin
    LineStart.Line :=Line;
    LineStart.Char :=1;
    Editor.UndoList.BeginBlock;
    Editor.UndoList.AddChange(crSelection,Editor.CharIndexToRowCol(Editor.SelStart),Editor.CharIndexToRowCol(Editor.SelEnd),'',smNormal);
    Editor.UndoList.AddChange(crCaret,Editor.CaretXY,Editor.CaretXY,'',smNormal);
    Editor.SelStart :=Editor.RowColToCharIndex(LineStart);
    Editor.SelLength :=Length(Editor.Lines[Line-1])+2;
    Editor.SelText :='';
    Editor.UndoList.AddChange(crGroupBreak,LineStart,LineStart,'', smNormal);
    Editor.UndoList.EndBlock;
    end;
    end;

    Hurts a little, but seems to do the job. Took me two hours of life time to figure that sick shit out.

    Like the idea. Changed it to this for testing ... However, Ctrl-Y was more conveniently located on the keyboard ...
