Has anyone tried running WinPoint in Wine on Linux ?

Have not, would be interesting if it would work but I have not tried Wine (Linux version only) but WinPoint uses a lot of WIndows APIs.

I know Delphi supports Linux (I have InterMail key core routines testing going on now with it) but you have to use the FMX formats, not VCL. It is possible to move WinPoint to multi-platform, it would take a bit of work. If you can get the app to compile under FPC, then you may be able to make changes but again, still would require a bit of work.

Let me know if anyone gets WP working or tested under Wine.

Would be, but in reality it is technically far far away. While latest Delphi compiles to multiple platforms even from the same code base, that code base has to be designed for it. WinPoint however is very much built around Win32, so porting that stuff to something that is compilable for multiple platforms essentially involves reworking everything. Probably not going to happen.

Also, such a big effort makes not much sense if WP runs on Wine (which I expect). If it does not directly run on Wine, that may also be easy to fix.

    Tim
