    Hi,

How do I update my nodelist properly within Winpoint?

I know I can download it to an obsure directory.

    Welcome back.

I thought you "figured out" WinPoint a long time ago.

Winpoint requires manual steps to accomplish the nodelist
inclusion and updates. But from what I can remember, you need
to make Extras/Options/Nodelist to look like this:

    https://susepaste.org/84517042

..where all the expected files are in the /DistribNL directory.

..and, since your point is in Zone 1, you should put "1" in the
last field where I have "2".

Then, when all that is copacetic, all you have to do is:

    Fidonet /Process Nodelists (or Shift+Ctrl+L)

Then.. when you invoke the handy nodelist viewer with F9, you
    should see what you expect.

    HTH.

BTW... Winpoint now has its own echo: WINPOINT. Maybe hook to
that while you're at it. ;)

I am on Winpoint and glad for it.

I am sure there are more things I don't get.

Your method of getting the nodelist is new to me.

    Worth printing out.

Where exactly do I put this link?

It did not work just calling it a nodelist.

I'm receiving this echo from two different BossNodes but, as yet, I
haven't seen the message you're replying to. I don't see it on Tommi's

Ah, he hasn't installed WinPoint in the default installation directory,

Hmmm. I think I ran into this problem in the early days of my

If C:\WP is your legitimate Winpoint installation directory,
then that would be fine. But make sure that the little folders
    in "Extras /Options /Nodelists" point to C:\WP\DistribNL

It may be a subtle difference, but maybe your directory name has
to be "\DistribNL" and not "\DISTRIBNL"

My installation ended up being in a default location:

    C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\WinPoint

And the NL directory is \DistribNL right after that.

The program is happy with that.

The nodelist should not be in the "WINPOINTNL" directory, that directory
is for the nodelist index files which WinPoint creates after it processes
    the nodelist.
